Amsterdamned II to have global premiere in Q4 2025, Incredible Film releases first trailer for cult horror sequel directed by Dick Maas

Dutch sales agent Incredible Film has announced that the cult horror feature film Amsterdamned II will be released in the Netherlands in Q4 this year. Incredible Film has also unveiled the first trailer of the film, which is the long-awaited sequel to Dick Maas’s chilling 1988 cult classic, Amsterdamned. The trailer is available here.

After 37 years, the film takes audiences back to the canals of Amsterdam, which once again run red when a new wave of gruesome murders sweep through the city. Detective Tara Lee (Holly Mae Brood) is faced with a series of horrifying incidents in the city centre and enlists the help of retired detective Eric Visser (Huub Stapel), who once managed to apprehend a serial killer after pursuing him through the canals in the 80’s. Together they face an adversary with supernatural powers.

The film is a coproduction from the Netherlands’ 2CFILM, Parachute Pictures and Guess Who and Belgium’s Potemkino. Incredible Film represents the global rights to the film. Splendid Film have licensed the film for the Benelux and GAS territories.

Amsterdamned II is directed by acclaimed Dutch director Dick Maas, who directed the original Amsterdamned and box-office hit Prey (Prooi). Amsterdamned II will take audiences on adrenaline-fuelled rollercoaster through the blood-soaked Amsterdam canals, in search of the most gruesome killer the city has ever seen.

Daniëlle Raaphorst, CEO of Incredible Film says “We’re thrilled to share this first look at the Amsterdamned IIfootage, and eager to introduce this exciting and exhilarating film to horror fans very soon with its NL premiere due this year, and the global release soon after. Almost 40 years since the original Amsterdamned premiered, it’s incredible to see how this iconic thriller has evolved, with Amsterdamned II reviving the original characters as well as the thrills and surprises that made it so popular in the 80’s.”
