Bennie Brat (2011)

BENNIE BRAT is a family adventure set in the 1930s.

Benjamin “Bennie” Brat is a brat. In his improvised go-kart, made out of a soap box, he is the terror of the town. Top of his wish list for Saint Nicholas Day is the shiny new go-kart he has seen in the window of the toy shop. However, there is an economic crisis on and Bennie’s father decides to stay in Spain for the time being to earn more money for the family.

Bennie has only one wish now: he asks Saint Nicholas to make his father come home soon so they can celebrate the Sinterklaas festival together.

Bennie soon discovers that his wish is not so easily granted and comes up with a scheme of his own to get his father back himself. He sets about getting his name on the “Naughty” list in Saint Nicholas’ Great Book, because everyone knows what the great man does with the naughty children: they get taken to Spain in his big sack…. and that happens to be exactly where Bennie wants to be more than anything else in the world.
