DIEDERIK VAN ROOIJEN (PENOZA) ENGAGED AS SCREENWRITER FOR THE THRILLER VERBROKEN [DISCONNECTED], BASED ON THE EPONYMOUS BESTSELLER BY LINDA JANSMA
Diederik van Rooijen (1975) is the well-known screenwriter and director of popular television series Penoza and films such as Daylight and Taped. Van Rooijen is currently living and working in Los Angeles and is working on a remake of Birds. He has come up with an exciting angle for the film adaptation of Linda Jansma’s bestseller Verbroken [Disconnected]. Today production company Incredible Film announced in a press release that Van Rooijen is writing the screenplay for the film and will be directing it.

Verbroken [Disconnected], published by De Crime Compagnie, is Linda Jansma’s seventh novel.
While carrying out a fairly routine task for her work, Mara unearths some information that is not meant for her eyes. The discovery spells grave danger not just for herself, but for thousands of other people. She is reluctantly drawn into a plot that presents her with an impossible choice: she must cooperate or her children, who have been kidnapped and taken abroad by her ex-husband, may be lost to her forever.

Linda Jansma (1967), bestselling author of novels such as Kwetsbaar [Vulnerable] and Tweestrijd [Dilemma], made the long list for De Diamante Kogel [The Diamond Bullet] and De Gouden Strop [The Golden Noose]. In 2011, she won the Schaduwprijs [Shadow Prize] for her debut novel Haunted. Verbroken was nominated for the Hebban Awards in the thriller category, which is an audience award for the best book of the year. You can vote until 15th October. For more information, see hebban.nl

Incredible Film produced The Escape, after the book by Heleen van Rooyen. To date this film has already attracted over 285,000 admissions.
