A New Friend for Tummy Tom follows Tummy Tom and Cat Mouse on a beautiful snowy winter’s day, when a new dog on the block turns the lives of Tummy Tom and Cat Mouse upside down.
The film’s animation style is authentically hand drawn with ink and watercolour, brought to life through the adventures of the beloved Tummy Tom.
The first film in the series, Tummy Tom and the Lost Teddy Bear, premiered in cinemas across the domestic Dutch market in June this year, securing more than 125,000 admissions so far. The winter edition, A New Friend for Tummy Tom, is set to hit the Dutch silver screen in December of this year. Crafted for young audiences (2-6 years old), the Tummy Tom film series is designed to introduce preschoolers to their first cinematic experience and each film is written to correspond with the seasons that the film is based around.
Tummy Tom is an animated film series based on the bestselling children’s books produced by Phanta Animation and BosBros. Tummy Tom is a funny, inquisitive, adventurous, and a slightly mischievous ginger tomcat. Together with his animal friends, he explores the world around him just like a preschooler would.
Tummy Tom first appeared in Sesame Street in 1978 and Dutch publisher Gottmer started publishing Jet Boeke’s stories in 1983. Since then, millions of Tummy Tom books have been sold around the world. In 2018, Tummy Tom celebrated his 40th birthday.
Short synopsis: On a beautiful winter day, the world of Tummy Tom and his friend Cat Mouse has suddenly changed. Snow! You can play and slide well in it. But something else has changed as well. A new dog on the block turns the lives of Tummy Tom and Cat Mouse upside down. But the troublemaker ends up being a good protector and a new friend.
